Currently Serving on the Board of Directors: Brad Emmerich-Brad has been a Maui resident and member of Lahaina Christian Fellowship since 1982. Over the years Brad has been involved within the church as a worship leader, teacher, board member, elder and deacon. Brad is a building contractor on Maui and among many other projects, has recently served on the building committee which completed the Lahaina Christian Fellowship Church Building Project.
Kellee Emmerich-Kellee received her Bachelor of Science degree in sociology, with an emphasis in social work, from Washington State University. She also received training in elementary education through Chaminade University. She moved to Maui in 1986 to work for Teen Challenge Maui as the academic instructor. Kellee, a member of Lahaina Christian Fellowship, has been the church secretary for more than 7 years. She has also been involved with children and ladies ministries. She serves as Secretary for the board of directors of House of New Life. Paulette Perkins was born and raised on Maui since February 5, 1953. Paulette became a natural leader, advancing in a thirteen year career of commercial banking on Oahu and later in daily business administration for ten years at her church on Maui. She committed herself to serving children's ministry with her children as they grew and is a member of Pacific Kids Ministries, a nonprofit children's ministry outreach organization. Her servanthood attitude and expression extended to many people on Oahu and Maui as she operated in her multiple gifts of giving and helps. Her acquaintance with Alton and Lynda Shimodoi began through fellowship with Teen Challenge Maui. Paulette has a heart for the people of Maui, especially toward families. She and her husband of 34 years, Frank, have raised four children here on Maui and know firsthand the challenges families face. Giving "hope" to other families through example is her desire.Paulette serves as the Treasurer of the HONL Board. Alton Shimodoi-Alton was born and raised in Hawaii, and received his MS degree in Counseling from Texas A & M University. He holds licensure as a National Professional Counselor, and a State of Hawaii Mental Health Counselor. He has been counseling since 1985, first, with Maui Teen Challenge, and thereafter developing a counseling program for a metropolitan church in Texas. Leading a team for a Community Mental Health Center, he had oversight of 600 clients and a team of professionals. He works for the Department of Education as a Behavioral Health Specialist, is a group facilitator for “Parents and Children Together”, and has a private counseling practice. Believing it was time to address the needs of youth and families on Maui, Alton & his wife Lynda founded House of New Life in 2004. The board of directors, all sharing the passion to bring healing to our community, began meeting in early 2005. Alton serves as President for the board of House of New Life. Lynda Shimodoi-Lynda has a BS degree in Pastoral Counseling from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. She has worked as a counselor since 1983, first with Teen Challenge and then at churches in Indiana and Texas. She has worked as a school counselor, teacher and administrator. She is involved in worship ministry and has served on the board for KHCS. Alton and Lynda are members at King’s Cathedral, and have been married for 20 years and have two teenage sons, Nathan and Jordan. Nani Sweeney-Nani has been a retail manager, secretary, bookkeeper, emcee for Tahiti Productions, and has taught Hawaiian Studies. In the 70’s Nani was instrumental in the Teen Challenge Drug Rehab facility here on Maui, working as a counselor and as a volunteer. Currently, she is a deacon at Lahaina Baptist Church where she also teaches Sunday School, does outreaches, directs the WMU program and is involved in choir. She is Vice President of the House of New Life Board. |
